Niçoise Tuna Dip Recipe

A fresh, Mediterranean-inspired tuna dip packed with olive oil, Dijon mustard, herbs, tomatoes, and garlic. Ready in minutes and perfect served with warm crusty baguette for entertaining, happy hour, or a light appetizer.

Ingredients

For Dressing
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 small garlic clove minced
  • 2 –3 anchovy fillets finely minced (optional, but worth it!)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
For Dip
  • 1 large can tuna drained
  • 1 Roma tomato seeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
To Serve
  • Sliced warm crusty baguette and don’t expect leftovers

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, minced anchovies (if using), and Dijon mustard until well combined.
  2. Add the drained tuna, diced tomato, chopped red onion, basil, and parsley.
  3. Gently fold everything together until evenly coated. Try not to overmix so the tuna stays flaky.
  4. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl or shallow plate.
  5. Serve immediately with warm sliced baguette.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, let the dip sit for 10–15 minutes before serving so the herbs and garlic can infuse the olive oil.
  • Toast your baguette until lightly crisp on the outside while keeping the inside soft for the perfect scoop.
