This might be one of my favorite ways to bring a little Italian summer feeling into the kitchen. Fresh ingredients, beautiful flavors, and a sandwich that comes together in minutes.
Every layer brings something different — crunchy bread, creamy aioli, fresh mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, salty prosciutto, and peppery arugula. It’s balanced, simple, and so satisfying.
It’s basically everything you want for a summer meal: fresh ingredients, minimal cooking, and maximum flavor.

Crispy Prosciutto Caprese Sandwich
Ingredients
Method
- Prepare the basil avocado aioli by adding avocado mayonnaise, basil leaves, parsley, and garlic into a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
- Lightly toast the baguette until golden and crisp.
- Spread a generous layer of basil avocado aioli onto the toasted baguette.
- Layer fresh mozzarella slices on top.
- Add salted tomato slices.
- Add thin slices of prosciutto.
- Top with fresh arugula and crispy prosciutto pieces for extra crunch.
- Finish with a drizzle of olive oil.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy immediately.
Notes
- For extra crunch, bake or pan-crisp a few pieces of prosciutto before adding them to the sandwich.
- The basil avocado aioli can be made ahead and stored in the fridge until ready to use.
- Best served immediately while the baguette is crispy.
